What is File Checker?
 File Checker assists you in the file preparation process. This application will ensure your designed files have met the specifications required to produce your AsukaBook and generate a PDF for your order.

Why do I have to use File Checker?
 You design your books in Photoshop, then you must create a PDF using File Checker. The program will verify the following:
  • number of files
  • embedded color profile of Adobe RGB or sRGB
  • the same embedded color profile for all files
  • correct file naming convention
  • dimensions
  • resolution
If any information above is incorrect, an error message will appear and you must make appropriate changes to be able to create a file for your order. File Checker ensures that all files are prepared correctly and according to the printer's specifications.

What is the latest version of File Checker available?

Can I use other programs such as Photoshop and Acrobat to create the PDF?
 No. File Checker will verify file specifications required by our printer and assign a unique name to the generated PDF. This PDF contains all the information for your order including personal selections such as quantity, hot stamp text, color of case, etc. This information is only included in a PDF created by the File Checker program, so it must be used to place an order properly.

What are the hardware specifications recommended to install and run the AsukaBook File Checker software?
 The following specifications are recommended:
  • PC - 1GHz or faster processor and at least 500MB RAM. Windows XP/2000
  • Mac - G4 or faster processor and at least 500MB RAM. OSX only.

How do I install File Checker?
  • Download the most recent version of File Checker.
  • Move the File Checker application icon onto your desktop.

What is my activation code?
  • Your activation code is your new AsukaBook User ID which needs to be entered into File Checker before you can create your PDFs. You must enter your User ID as the activation code, which the system uses to Verify that the PDF's being uploaded match the customer account. You should have received this code in an email but you can also view it by logging into your account and clicking on the "Update Account" link. You may also contact Customer Care at +886-2-87923001 or asia@asia.asukabook.com for your activation code.
What do the errors in File Checker mean?
There are various errors File Checker may prompt. Always make sure you are using the latest version of File Checker (currently 3.0.3 for Mac 3.0.2 for PC users).

Missing Image File.
  • Check for correct number of files required.

  • Check that all files are .jpg.

  • Check that all files follow the correct naming convention. (File names cannot have spaces, or 'copy' as part of the name)

    1000.jpg last page for a 100-side book (090000.jpg for 90-side book, 080000.jpg for 80-side book, etc.)

  • Verify cover (000000.jpg) dimension is correct for selected book size.
  • Error:
    Image color mode is not RGB. Please make sure no images are in grayscale or CMYK mode.
    • One or more files do not match the correct color space. Please change all files' color space to AdobeRGB or sRGB.
    Error :
    Some color profiles are not embedded.
    • One or more files do not have a color space embedded. Please change all files' color space to AdobeRGB or sRGB.
    Error :
    Color profiles are mixed. Please save all pages with the same color profile.
    • One or more files do not match the correct color space. Please change all files' color space to AdobeRGB or sRGB.
    Error :
    Resolution of cover page is incorrect. It should be 260 dpi. Please do not change resolution.
    • Cover page (000000.jpg) should have a set resolution of 260 dpi.
      All AsukaBook templates have correct resolution set (260 dpi for the cover and 271 for inside pages).
    Error :
    Resolution of body pages is incorrect. It should be 271 dpi. Please do not change page resolution.
    • All body pages (inside pages) should have a set resolution of 271 dpi.

    • Template canvas size is incorrect. Verify the dimensions for selected book size. All AsukaBook templates have correct dimensions set.
    Error:
    No valid file names were found in the folder. Please don't modify the file names.
    • Files do not follow the correct naming convention.
    Error:
    Files are not in the correct JPG format. Please check your file types.
    • All files must be JPEGs.
    Error:
